May 15, at 1:00 p.m. The Wildness of Vermont Nature Conservancy’s photographer and wildlife biologist Tom Rogers will talk about changes that each season brings to our natural world and what we can all do to ensure the beauty of our state for future generations. Location: Manchester Community Library Coordinator: Martha Heilemann

Saturday, May 18, at 9:00 a.m. Annual Plant, Bake and Tag Sale All member participation needed for our fundraiser for Civic Beautification. Set up will be Friday, May 17th and many hands are needed. Location: Southern Vermont Arts Center Coordinators: Carolyn Brogan, Anne MacLaurin and Becky Moore

Wednesday, May 22 at 7:00 a.m. & 9:00 a.m. Annual Bird Walk and Breakfast MCC is a perfect venue to observe migrating birds arriving from southern destinations to nest in Vermont. Breakfast and short program to follow. Location: Manchester Country Club Coordinator: Martha Pfeiffer

Thursday, June 13, at 5 p.m. Charlie Nardozzi Popular PBS garden speaker will talk about Cottage Gardening and the history and elements of traditional and nontraditional gardens. Location: Manchester Community Library Coordinator: Becky Burke

Wednesday, July 17, at 1:00 p.m. Pre Garden Tour Meeting All hands on deck are needed as we prepare for our Garden Tour. Location: Manchester Community Library Coordinator: Garden Tour Committee

Saturday, July 20 GCM Garden Tour Join in by helping and attending the tour of gardens in Manchester, Dorset and East Dorset. This will be a fundraising event and 100% participation of GCM members is needed. Location: Various Gardens Coordinators: Garden Tour Committee and Executive Board

Wednesday, August 28, at 9:00 a.m. Day Trip to Kelly Way Gardens Kelly Way Gardens is a farm-to-table program for the Woodstock Inn. Along with vegetables and berries we will see over 200 varieties of cut flowers. We will plan to have lunch in Woodstock. Location: Carpool from Christ Our Savior Parish (St. Paul’s Church) parking lot. Coordinator: Carol Munson

Wednesday, October 23, at 9:00 a.m. Evergreen Centerpiece Workshop We will create our own arrangement during this hands-on workshop. Cost is $45 per arrangement. Carpooling to be arranged. Location: Gardenworks Farm in Salem, NY Coordinator: Lisa Welp

 

Wednesday, November 13, at 1:00 p.m. Beyond Fruitcake: Edible Holiday Gifts to Make GCM member Becky Moore will demonstrate some unique holiday treats to make, along with creative packaging ideas. There will be samples and recipes to take home. Location: First Congregational Church Coordinator: Becky Moore

 

Monday, December 2, at 9:00 a.m. Annual Greens Workshop Join in the camaraderie to help decorate donated wreaths and prepare for the Winter Bazaar. Location: First Congregational Church Coordinators: Carmen Bodge and Sue Hinkel

 

Friday and Saturday, December 6 & 7 Winter Bazaar at MCL Craft Fair Help support this fundraising event where we will sell winter arrangements, boxwood trees, homemade and handmade creations by members. Location: Manchester Community Library Coordinator: GCM Executive Board

 

Wednesday, December 11, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Annual Tea Join the fun at this annual event in a relaxed setting. Location: TBD Coordinator: Christina Nichols
