Thursday, November 13, at 1:00 p.m.

Learn about using plants for pigment in a Natural Dye Presentation with Tammy White.

You will learn about simple methods to extract botanical color for small to large projects, as well as the dye plants she recommends for our region.  There will be kits available for purchase to do your own dyeing at home, as well as samples to view.

Tammy is shepherdess/dyer of Wing & A Prayer Farm, in Shaftsbury, VT.

She has been fiber farming since 2000, cultivates a dye garden for naturally dyeing her flocks’ wool, and promotes sustainable agriculture.

Tammy has been teaching locally and nationally, from small farm-retreats and academic guests, to the Smithsonian and the Guggenheim.  The shop at Wing & A Prayer Farm has supplies for dyeing as well as farm wool in various forms, and more, and you can learn more at wingandaprayerfarm.com
