For more than 50 years The Garden Club has awarded scholarships to students in area schools pursuing an education in:

​

  • Agronomy

  • Agriculture Education

  • Floriculture

  • Horticulture

  • Landscape Design

  • Botany, Biology

  • Forestry

  • Wildlife Science

  • Plant Pathology/Science

  • City (Rural & Urban) Planning

  • Habitat or Forest/Systems Ecology

  • Environmental Concerns (Management: Environmental, Horticulture Resource/Environmental Behavior)

  • Environmental Conservation (inc. Engineering, etc.)

  • Land Management and/or other related or allied subjects.

This year (2024) our Scholarship Amount is $3,000 Application Deadline is May 6, 2024

 

Currently the criteria for the scholarship is a graduating high school senior enrolled in a college or university pursuing the above course of studies. The scholarship is awarded in June and paid after the student has successfully completed their first semester.  Here is our application.  Along with your application, please include letters of recommendation and school transcript.  We hope you consider applying!

2023 Scholarship Award

The Garden Club of Manchester is pleased to announce the winner of this year’s 2023 scholarship to:

Harper Julia Stevenson of Manchester Center!

​

During her years at BBA, Harper worked summers at The Hildene Farm, led the Environmental Club at BBA and has taken a Permaculture class at UVM.

​

This autumn, Harper will attend Bowdoin College, where she plans to major in Environmental Science

In addition to the Club scholarship, the Federated Garden Club of VT selects one student for the state’s Mabel Mayforth Scholarship, which awards $1000 scholarships to college juniors and seniors  and Masters students.  For more info vermontfgcv.com.

National Garden Clubs also gives scholarships to worthy students in the amount of $4000. Specific information can be found here.

Special Note:  Jennie Mull, also of Manchester, our past Scholarship recipient has gone on to win the National Garden Club Scholarship for rising College Juniors!
