Rewarding Excellence
For more than 40 years The Garden Club has awarded scholarships to students in area schools pursuing an education in environmental studies, agribusiness, botany or any related course of study.
Currently the criteria for the scholarship is a graduating senior enrolled in a college or university pursuing the above course of studies. The scholarship is awarded in June and paid after the student has successfully completed their first semester. Here is our application. We hope you consider applying!
Congratulations to the 2017 Scholarship Winners
This year the Garden Club awarded two $1500 scholarships to local area high school seniors. We are pleased to announce our 2017 Garden Club of Manchester Scholarship winners are Jennie Mull from Burr and Burton Academy and Lindy Burch-Durkee from the Long Trail School. Garden Club's Carolyn Smith, Scholarship Chair, was on hand to present the awards.
Jennie Mull plans to attend Warren Wilson College in Asheville, NC this fall concentrating her studies in Environmental Studies.
Lindy Burch-Durkee, a 7th generation farmer, is attending UVM in the fall. Her major will be Agricultural Business.

In addition to the Club scholarship, the Federated Garden Club of VT selects one student for the state’s Mabel Mayforth Scholarship, which awards $1000 scholarships to college juniors and seniors and Masters students. For more info vermontfgcv.com.
National Garden Clubs also gives scholarships to worthy students in the amount of $3500. Specific information can be found here.
